We look forward to welcoming you and pray that you will be greatly blessed by this day out!
What are the aims of the conference?
To teach, equip and encourage women to live for Jesus
- Bringing together Christian women from across the region
- Women teaching women (Titus 2:3-5)
- Large group expository teaching
- Bible study and prayer
- Seminars to extend and equip
- Worshipping God together
The Cambridge Women’s Bible Conference is organised by an interdenominational group of evangelical women representing a number of churches in and around Cambridge including Eden Baptist Church, St Andrew the Great, Christ Church Cambridge, Christ Church South Cambs, St Matthews Cambridge, St Neots Evangelical Church and Grace Church Cambridge. The Cambridge Women’s Bible Conference operates in partnership with the Cambridgeshire Gospel Partnership.
At our 2024 Conference, ‘Finding Rest in Christ’, Caroline West helped us track the theme of rest through the Bible and we explored together how ultimately we find rest in Christ.
At our 2025 Conference, ‘The LORD, He is God’, Charlotte Cornes taught us from the book of 1 Kings about the power and promise of God’s word, and that He alone is worthy of our praise and worship.
What about this year?
We are excited about our 2026 conference ‘Church Expectations’ when Karen Soole will be teaching us from the Book of Acts about the foundations and experience of the early Church.
We have great expectations of what the Church should be. We rightly long for churches that help us love the Lord and provide supportive fellowship, but sometimes our experience seems far from ideal. Looking at the Book of Acts, we will explore what we should expect from the Church, its essential foundation and the challenges that all thriving churches face.
Karen oversees Women’s Ministry at Trinity Church, Lancaster. She is the chair of the Northern Women’s Convention and a trustee of the Proclamation Trust. She has been teaching the Bible for over forty years in a variety of settings. Her passion is to help people read the Bible and spends as much time as possible doing just that. She is the author of the books “Unleash the Word” and “Liberation: How the Bible Exalts and Dignifies Women“. She enjoys the great Northern outdoors in the company of her Labrador. Karen is married to Martin, who leads the AMiE church in Lancaster, and they have four adult children and two grandchildren.
The conference costs £12 – if you would like to attend but don’t have the means, please ask your church leader to contact us at cwbconf@gmail.com
The main talks of the conference by Karen will also be recorded and the audios uploaded to the Cambridge Women’s Bible Conference YouTube channel afterwards. Here is the link to the recording of the main talks.
More information about seminar options:
Seminar 1: “Crawling Out of the Prison of Perfectionism” with Genevieve Jennings
Perfectionism can often be seen as a virtue in our society. However, as Christians, we don’t have to strive for the unattainable goal of being perfect, ourselves, but can find rest in the perfect Christ. In this seminar we will look at some of the characteristics & causes of perfectionism as well as ways of rethinking & reshaping a perfectionistic approach to life. This tends to be an intentional process rather than a one-off decision. All of this with a heart-felt reliance on the Holy spirit!
Seminar 2: “Teens, Screens and Memes: Thinking through how to help Teenagers navigate the world of Smartphones and Social media” with Ali Campbell-Smith
This seminar is for anyone who’d like to think more about how we help children and teenagers learn to engage wisely with the world of the smartphone and all that goes with it and will be relevant to anyone who interacts with teenagers, whether as a parent, grandparent, godparent, youth leader or in another context. We will look at what the Bible has to say, how we can apply the principles we find there to this topic, and how we can help our young people learn to be wise.
Seminar 3 : “Sharing the Gospel Cross Culturally with Confidence and Grace” with Harriet Ngugi
In today’s diverse world, gospel conversations often span cultural, religious, and even linguistic differences. How can we communicate the good news clearly and respectfully with those shaped by different worldviews? This seminar will explore practical, compassionate approches to sharing Christ across cultures with our friends and neighbours.
Seminar 4: “If it’s not too much trouble: Caring for an Elderly Parent” with Ruth Oakley
Parents are there to look after us, aren’t they? But as parents age this relationship, in various and difficult ways, morphs and mixes. How should we respond as a Christian? Where do our priorities lie? And how can we best navigate these years of change and challenge? Whether this is an issue that you are facing at the moment, or are expecting to face in the future, let’s find out together what the bible has to say and what it might mean for each of us.
Updates on next year’s conference will be sent by email. Sign up to our mailing list here.
